Miles birthday party was a big sucess. Miles wanted there to be a game theme, so we set up lots of games, such as chess, sorry and connect four. Andre brought along a great game called Dvoon, which was a big hit with both the kids and grown ups!

We were hoping to go canoeing today, but the weather got very cold (40f/5c) and the overnight rain raised the river levels, so instead we grabbed breakfast at the Red River Outdoors Cafe (1st two below), which claims to be the best breakfast in Slade, and we agree, yummy pancakes. …

We explored Red River Gorge today and it was amazing, apparently great rock climbing and canoeing territory, that we’re hoping to canoe on Thursday.  Today was very warm so we took a long walk along the river, skipped stones in it when it got hot and visited a frontier home…
