Liam and Miles had a week full of performances last week. Liam had a band concert on Tuesday (will be posting the sound file from that in the near future!), they were both in a play called Stocking Stuffers at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center on Wednesday, and they were also both in song and dance performances on Thursday also at their after school program at LPCC. Below is a photo of the curtain call from Stocking Stuffers. They are 2nd and 3rd from the left. They both did a great job, remembered their lines, and acted with gusto! Liam…

Whose property this is I think I know His hotels are on the monopoly board though… We played a fun game of Monopoly Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed property ownership without snow shovelling duties! We declared Liam the winner–it was inevitable once he got a hotel on each of the “red” properties and the rest of us were mortgaged up to our necks and out of cash. It was a fun afternoon on the last day of a very enjoyable visit from Granny and Grandad!

We had a great time last Sunday at the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. Fun entertainment, great music, and a fantastic brunch buffet. As the House of Blues motto goes: hallelujah… and pass the biscuits!

Miles drew this picture to describe what he does to help his family: “by turning on The Office” he is very helpful indeed!

Arthur Bryant’s had a line that went out the door and wrapped around the building so we’ll try it, and several others, next time. The winner of this round…Gates’s. However, the way things go, we only took a picture in Fiorelli’s, see below. To paraphrase something I’ve read (by Calvin Trillin? not sure) “I’d eat there if it weren’t in Kansas City.” In KC the choices are just so good,…

We went geocaching on Thanksgiving in Grandview. It was really cold and Miles and Cindy turned back, but Mary, Herb, John and Liam went on to find the first part of a multi-stage geocache. Then on Friday we went to find the second part of the geocache. Initially Miles refused to go, remembering how cold it had been the day before. We assured him he could wear lots of layers, so he got dressed in 3 pairs of socks, fleece pajamas with snow pants, two sweatshirts and a coat, earmuffs, a scarf tied around his face, 2 pairs of gloves,…
