Art may finally found a buyer for his strange art sculptures. The morton arboretum already has four and maybe they’d like two more.

We went to the Morton Arboretum today to take a walk. The Xanadu sculpture / hut made of intertwined twigs is always fun. No cicadas this time though…last time we were there was last summer and it was the only place we heard the 17-year cicadas since they didn’t really make it into the city. Liam’s friend Peter went with us.

For those of you who haven’t seen me in the last few days, I got new glasses. They magically turn into sunglasses when I’m outside!

From US politics to home decor…Cindy and the Kennymen cover it all. We finally hung up our antique Chinese lantern in the dining room. When the candles are lit it makes some very nice shadows on the wall and ceiling.

The weather warmed up here dramatically. All the snow melted on Saturday and Sunday was warm but very muddy everywhere. Sunday was 60 degrees F / 15 degrees C, and we took a trip to the Brookfield Zoo. We got to catch up with Harley the sea lion (our penniped pal from last summer), see Hudson the baby polar bear playing with all his toys, and do a little baboon observing, which was of special interest to John since he’s reading a book about baboons. As seen in the pictures below we also stopped by Australia.

Cindy and the Kennymen normally refrain from political postings but last night’s Iowa results are on our minds. GO OBAMA!

Today we hosted the 2nd annual Ultimate Brunch with visitors from Denver, Eric, Amber and Will, and local friends Annette, Dave, Katie and Mark. Percy and Bommer joined the party this year too and their company was much enjoyed by all. We had a delicious soy chorizo vegetable dish and potatoes in an amazing herb blend (courtesy Annette), pierogi (courtesy Nana Reg of Good Will Gorski fame), fruit salad and juice (courtesy Katie), mango and wine spritzers, coffeecake, quesadillas, and a granola bar. After a hearty meal of oranges slices, peaches, and little cubes of beef tenderloin, it was time for Fiona to go to bed. She got changed into her pajamas, definitely the most festive outfit spotted all evening, and did a few dashes up and down the hall, then very cheerfully went to sleep in the spare room.
