London: day 1

John had a last minute meeting come up that involved a trip to London, so we decided to make a week of it, and have Cynthia join, swing by Dublin on the way back, and squeeze in a few days of sight seeing in London.

Delays caused us to not land on London til about 5pm, but even on Day 1, with lovely weather we were able to get in a Uzbeki meal nearby our hotel in Piccadilly Circus, wander down to St James Park, past a new Banksy statue, and past Buckingham Palace.

The long day and lovely weather really made walking around the city after a long day of travel feel great!

  1. It’s great that you had the opportunity to visit London!
I gather that the Banksy statue is a bit of rogue art, controversial, satirical, and placed without permission.

A similar thing occurred in New York when a large bull statue was illegally placed in front of the New York Stock Exchange in 1989. It has since been moved to a different location in Bowling Green.
All this was news to me. When we visited New York recently, I expected to see the bull, but did not know it had been moved years ago. When I returned home, I asked my computer what happened.

  2. Great Cindy you were able to avail of trip to London and looks like you got to see a lot of the sights too it’s a great city to visit
