The combination of a visit to the Sydney Fish Market + yum cha was quite a treat.
First, we window shopped for fish
Alfonsino, what big eyes you have
Then we had an appetizer of Pacific oysters. So different from Atlantic! They were really meaty, and one type we had was quite briny, and the other being more fishy. Miles even tried one and liked it!
We tried two types of oysters that were new to us: the Pacific oyster and the Sydney Rock Oyster. Defined by the fishmonger as “creamy” vs “salty”, they were completely different in taste from the Atlantic oysters we are used to. Delicious!Chicken Feet, or what happens when you blindly say yes to the nice ladies with the carts and steamer baskets, as part of Yum Cha at the Sydney Fish Market. Surprisingly not too bad, but a bit gristly.
We ordered 1 portion of Chines Broccoli as part of Yum Cha at the Sydney Fish Market. The portion was enormous and this is what was left after Cindy made a heroic effort to put a dent in it.Fish in tank at Yum Cha restaurant
One comment on “yummmmm….. yum cha!”
What big-eyed fish! It takes courage to sink one’s teeth into a raw oyster! Chicken feet? No thanks, no matter how much sauce they put on them.
