Weekend of lots of surprises

Until several days ago, this weekend was going to have John heading off to a conference in Lisbon, Liam staying down at college, and Miles and me flying to Florida to see Debbie, Jeff and Madeline. In the end the two trips were postponed and Liam came to town. John will be going to Lisbon in November or December, and I’m also hoping to get to Florida before the end of the year!

It was great to have Liam around!

Liam’s friends Sophie and Sebi came over today, and we went to Unami Burger in Wicker Park for lunch.

Teddy enjoyed the visit too.

I thought since I don’t have my own photos of Madeline from this weekend to post, I’d feature a few from Jeff’s facebook page. Thanks, Jeff! Great photos!

This is my favorite picture ever of a person sniffing.

And speaking of the senses (graceful transition, huh?!) our neighbors had this balloon tied to their fence today. Just looked kinda funny, a giant eyeball floating there.

  1. It turned out to be a nice family weekend! I like Liam’s Illinois shirt. The eyeball on your fence is kinda creepy, though.

  2. Nice to see ye all together for weekend despite cancelations.
Madeline looks lovely too-bit like her granny in Kansas we think.

  3. You all so happy to have your boy home – Happy Days – Madeline is a cutey ! I love the sniffing face!!

  4. I’m sorry the FL trip had to be postponed, but what a great time you all had due to changed plans! Thanks for the Madeline compliments 🙂 You just need to hurry up and come down to see the cute flower sniffing in person 🙂

And yes, the eyeball is kinda creepy!

  5. Woah, something’s happened to my wordpress app & I’ve missed out on all these recent blog posts! Great photos of you all & very cute ones of Madeline too – I think Jeff must have a really nice camera as they’re all really sharp.

Debbie – we miss your fly in, fly out visits to Sydney although you’l be happy to hear Colman is still telling people about the kind of things you used to freight around the world!
