We had another delightful experience in the Pacific Northwest, and that was meeting up with Alex and David, friends of ours from John’s PhD program who have been living in Portland for over 15 years now. We met them for dinner in Portland only to discover that we were all going to be at the coast over the holiday weekend, so we planned to meet up there too! They have a beach house at Rockaway Beach and they were very kind to invite us over on Sunday.
First we stopped at a wine and cheese shop in Tillamook that had a petting zoo. Nice goats but no yoga this time!
After arriving at Rockaway Beach, we went on a scenic drive with Alex, David and Buddy. Here’s Buddy. Super nice dog!
David is an avid bird watcher and has some good binoculars!
We had a really delicious salmon and many also yummy sides at their place then went down to the beach for sunset. Oregon is really good at providing haystack rocks out in the ocean as a nice beach view focal point!
And here we all are – I think before it got quite to sunset! Looking forward to meeting them again on another trip to the area!
