Visit from Mom and Dad, Millenium Park

We’ve had a fun visit with Mom and Dad this weekend. Here they are sitting in the backyard during cocktail hour

We have some new yard art. Comments so far include “I would have thrown that away,” “You’re going to make the place look like Sanford and Son,” and an encouraging “That looks really good there.” The junk collector / garden artist extraordinaire’s reply: Throwing it away would have been a mistake. And Sanford and Son may just be the look I’m going for!

After dinner tonight we went to Millenium Park. Even after dark and by the lake it was 91 degrees! That’s 37 C. Hot! The city looked lovely though.

Miles took this photo of the bridge leading to the Art Institute.

Miles at the bean.

The fountains are so cool at night!

  1. 37deg at night – I know it’s way too hot but kinda makes me excited about summer! First day of spring this week! Hi to Mary & Herb

  2. Looks like a good time…even with the 91 degrees at night! Millennium park looks fun at night!

  3. Oh, and nice yard art 🙂 I can’t think of the name, but I think it’s more like that show Mom recorded for you years ago…some PBS show about art out in rural areas (?). That or urban art (those seem opposite though…hmmmm 🙂

  4. The PBS show is “Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations.” It is produced by Kansas City Public Television, which I believe can be found at kcpt.org. Actually, I think the bicycle gears are looking better and better all the time! Millenium Park after dark was really nice–a whole different look.
