A fascinating day trip to kansas city involved a trip to the mile long tunnel where they store, among other things, stamps in the worlds largest underground storage facility.

  1. There are several places in the Kansas City area where limestone caves are used for storage. They even have an annual Groundhog Day Run in one of them!

  2. Groundhog Day, being on February 2 as it is, probably will be cold. After all, the groundhog story is all about how much longer winter will last. So those who like to run (people, that is) get to run in the perpetually stable climate of the limestone caves! (Do our blog readers in Ireland and Australia know about the groundhog story?)

  3. I know about the groundhog day story from the film of the same name with Bill Murray. What temperature is maintained in the caves?
