Ticklemonster Attacks Gathering of Friends

A ticklemonster attacked a gathering of friends Saturday evening in the Chicago neighborhood of Humboldt Park, specifically targeting one very cute young fellow and his dad. The victims, seen below, tried the commonly used technique of hiding behind their hands in hopes that the monster would go away.

This technique did not work.

In fact the only thing that stopped the tickling was an injury, which was upsetting to the hosts. "Why does someone always have to get hurt?" asked Cindy Mathews, rhetorically. Ice and ice cream were distributed and eventually all present reassembled for the annual group photo.

Other memorable events were the pointsetta cocktails, espresso chili with chocolate shavings, John's pleas to the American public to please eat more fruitcake, and Miles serving admirably as a big brother for much of the night! It was great to see you all, come back again soon!

  1. Thanks to everyone for the great food and fellowship – and especially Miles for being such a patient companion to Will. We will be cutting and pasting these photos onto the Willblog in the coming days to document our Winter Midwestern Tour ’08. Keep us apprised of your skiing plans and you’re always welcome to stay with us coming or going.
    Happy New Year!
