We’ve had a couple of lovely visits in the last week, from the Kennys and from spring! Both were very welcome in Chicago. Last weekend we went to Hyde Park and visited the Museum of Science and Industry, then took an informal tour around the University (major points of interest, my office and then the Mansueto library.) We also visited the Garfield Park Conservatory, closer to home. This weekend we went to C2E2, a comics and entertainment convention, where John and Miles met R2D2
then at Sarah’s excellent suggestion we went to the Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport for some delicious savory pies.
Today we went to Oak Park and took a self-guided walking tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright historic area. Here we are in front of FLW’s first commission after leaving the office of Adler and Sullivan.
I know what you’re thinking, the ornament on this house is SO reminiscent of Louis Sullivan!
We went past the FLW home and studio too, with a stop in the gift shop to buy a few post cards, deciding that a 1 hour + tour of the home and studio would be a bit lengthy.
Thanks for a great visit, come back again soon! Oh and here is a sign of spring here, the daffodils in our back yard. I’m not sure of the variety name but they look like fried eggs, with the ring of nearly orange at the center.

Great pictures! Glad that Paddy and Kathleen could enjoy some spring weather and see some green grass and daffodils. That’s great that Miles’s project is going to state competition in Springfield.
Most pleasant trip to Chicago.
Great to see all of you again and very enjoyable time for us also-thanks alot.
Nice to see Spring appearing in your pics
