Today’s plan was to go check out some sights in Hyde Park that are mentioned in the book that Miles and I are reading: The Wright Three. We nearly bailed on the plan several times because it was raining so much this morning, but we decided to go ahead and give it a try, and we visited Powell’s Books, the Robie House as seen in the pics below, and the U of C Lab School (the school that the characters in the book attend–also known as the school the Obama girls attended until they moved to Washington.) Disadvantage to doing this tour in the rain: we didn’t get to walk around Hyde Park as much as if it had been dry or even not pouring. Advantage: we stopped by the Hyde Park Art Center on our way home, which we pr0bably wouldn’t have done otherwise. Fun day!
