Robin was beset with a series of trials on day three of the hike, but he battled through! One of the nicest part of the trip (besides the sight of the shelters and dinner at the end of the day) was volunteer park ranger Alma was offered to pick us up at our end point and bring us back to our cars. Above and beyond the call of duty, and living proof of southern hospitality.

Robin’s montee du Calvaire is every bit as painful as it looks. But it was worth it! For three days, there was little else on my mind other than failing motor skills and a hidden (but terribly visceral) ursine menace. It was like Zen for the mind (if not the body)
A wonderful experience- every bit of it!
It all looks fantastic – beautiful scenery. Well done!
