I have quite a few photos on my phone to post, so I thought we’d start out with a look at the second half of September. We’ve had the flooring in our basement bathroom refinished. Here’s it with tiles installed but before the fittings were put back in.

We definitely felt the temps drop a bit and leaves start to change as we moved into Fall, so I have quite a few photos of the seasonal change to share! Here we are heading out on a walk and then the park in late-September glory.
My birthday sometimes falls on the autumnal equinox, but this year it was the day after. It was a really beautiful weather day, and I decided to take the day off work and do some things that I enjoy to celebrate. I rode my bike over on the 606 and through Lincoln Park to the lake front, then south to Northerly Island.
There are so many geese in Chicago! There’s a project underway to create a Navy Pier Flyover, or dedicated cycling and walking pathway, from the stretch that goes past Navy Pier. It’s partially done and will be amazing when complete! One big challenge was to blast through the bridge house – see the light coming through the tunnel area on the right. Classic view by the aquarium! The water was super still. Northerly Island starting to show some fall colors. 52! Whoo hoo! Another classic view, from a little platform on the south side of the lagoon. I did a bit of poking around and found that there is a path that leads from Northerly Island over to the 12th Street Beach and planetarium end of the peninsula. Heading back north again, the lake was so still and silky it ws just begging for another photo. Just the lake. So we’d seen a cyclist with one of these masks on, and after hearing my delight, John found out where to order them online and surprised me with a cat mask! Love it, John!
So many great pics! Funny cat mask!
