Parks in Madrid

On Christmas Eve and Day we walked to Retiro park, which reminded us of Central Park in New York.

Black swans and lots of mallards
34 art cows are all together at the cow gallery

For sunset we met up at temple David, a 2nd century BCE Egyptian temple that was a gift from Egypt to Spain. It’s reconstructed on a ridge with an amazing westward view. Excellent intel from Zoe and Miles’s friends, we wouldn’t have heard of this site otherwise!

Walking back we saw more holiday lights.

Light sphere
Lights at el Cortes inglés – a huge store

Then back to our apartment for a wonderful Christmas dinner with the group. So yummy and we didn’t even have room for dessert, half a king cake is still in the refrigerator!

Merry Christmas!
