• Last day at Rand

From the last few weeks… my last day at Rand The app works like a calendar with a new picture every day. I used all these little printed pictures to decide on the order to display them.

  • Rodeo at the United Center

Myself, Liam and Miles got tickets through work to see the professional bull riders’ show when they came into town yesterday.  We had great seats and they put on a great show.  I haven’t been to a regular rodeo, but this one was all glam and pyrotechnics, a packed night at the United Center http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKikKbHhgK8

  • Miles before his solo test

This photo was taken a few minutes before Miles went into his test for music.  I was able to sit in with him and he did a great job.  We’re waiting on the results and should get them next week

  • Published in Fast Company

I talked with this journalist about a month ago when she was fishing around for an angle on a story she was doing, and lo and behold she quoted me!  Excited to see my name in one of my favorite magazines.  Here’s the link to the article: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/153/the-business-of-happiness.html

  • We <3 huevos rancheros

John made a delicious breakfast this morning–huevos rancheros or Mexican scrambled eggs. I only wish I could have gotten a pic of Liam licking his plate!

  • Snow removal, the literal kind

What often passes for snow removal is really ‘pushing snow from the center of the road to the edges’. Today the city is engaging in some serious removal. Backhoes and trucks are everywhere, picking up mountains of snow on street corners especially and filling the trucks. I’m not sure about the details on this but I’ve heard the city has big melting machines for all the snow. All that water can then flush out the sewers. Win win!

  • Blizzaster

It’s snowing sideways, chicago public schools have a snow day tomorrow, and I just learned that the weather lady on tv is called Amy Freeze.

  • The race is on

I’ve heard that rahm has way outspent the other mayoral candidates but I’ve yet to see any campaign signs (for any candidate. That I can remember.) That is until today, when I saw this on a boarded up storefront on milwaukee between aldi and the bucktown library.
