Just a few more Thanksgiving photos from Mom’s camera. Here we are before dinner in the kitchen:

On Friday John and I took a walk to Wicker Park and back around on the 606. It’s always fun to see a new (or new to me) mural.

We went into Challenger’s Comics to get the compiled 12 books of The Watchmen, since we’re watching the HBO series, and they had a wrapping stand that I thought Colette would enjoy. When I first met Colette we went on a shopping trip in Dublin and I gave her some very valuable advice that every 9-year-old should know – if you ever need tape they’ll give it to you for free at the post office. That supply of tape has since dried up, but nice to see that Challengers has brought it back (albeit with some conditions!)

You know it’s a slow news day when I take a photo of my air plants having their weekly bath…

On Saturday, Debbie and Jeff brought Maddie and her friend to the Shedd Aquarium and very nicely invited us along. Miles and John had work to do around here, but I went and it was really fun seeing them and also paying a return visit to the aquarium. Maddie and her friend (and all of us) enjoyed everything, especially the dolphin show, penguins and jellyfish.

Miles just boarded his flight back to Portland to go back for a couple of weeks of classes then final exams. In the spirit of the Thanksgiving weekend winding down, and thinking about all that we have to be grateful for, I thought I’d post both a pic of the Chicago skyline also sending a message of gratitude and a postcard I got in the mail from the ACLU. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Ha ha, I rarely post a package anywhere without thinking of that GPO advice!!
Looks like you all had a great Thanksgiving and what a smart message from ACLU.
PS We really liked that jellyfish part of the Shedd too altho we couldn’t get Rory out of the play submarine bit!!
