Minneapolis

We had a great visit to Minneapolis, starting with an exploration of the art in our hotel

What looks like trash bags behind Miles is a bronze sculpture. Talk about fooling the eye! Of note, this piece of artwork appeared briefly in a movie called Wasteland that we saw this year about an artist that goes and works with people who work in a massive dump outside of Rio. Miles picked up on this — he has a really good memory.

More art — modern day Vikings or just regular giants?

Then we met our friends Danielle and Chris for dinner at Brasa, and it was great to see them. Some day I will get a photo of them for the blog!

  1. Trash bags as art? Who would have thought so. We have a service that comes on Wednesday mornings to remove “art” like that.
I wonder if the life-like sculptures of the men represent the French Voyageurs? Anyway, one of them has a walking stick that reminds me of Gandalf.

  2. Trash Art?-think thats stretching the boundaries even in the art world.
