Despite some rain at the end of last week, we ended up having really great weather for our Memorial Day 3-day weekend. Today, John and I rode bikes to Northerly Island then back by way of the lake front to Chicago and over from there. Here’s some of John documenting the trip with me (and my Swedish backpack!) in front of him.

New landscaping on Northerly Island includes hills!

We saw a triathalon training club in wetsuits and wading into the lake for their first swim of the season. It’s making me think I should join a club like this to be sure I know what I’m prepared for the swim portion of the super sprint triathalon I’m signed up for at the end of August. Loads of people were out at the beach! It was like a little Coogee!

Once we got home we did some work in the garden. One of Miles’s regular jobs is to keep the vines trimmed off out neighbor’s garage. John was sorting through our camping equipment. More on the camping soon! We are hoping to take a bike ride / camping trip in the near future.

Looks like a beautiful day along by the lake… Made me want to visit!
Heard this morning on the news that yesterday’s water temps in the lake were 56 F / 13 C! Not quite so Coogee like!
Some lovely shots of lake shore/drive/cycle and weather looked lovely too.
Such a great day for a bike ride. Nice backpack, too!
