Thought I’d post with a news roundup. First, today was one of those rare days when the tilt of the earth is just so and our dining room becomes like Newgrange or Stonehenge on the solstice and a ray of light makes its way to the inner chamber. Always exciting!

It was a really nice day here, very bright and 40F / 5C. I took a walk and passed by this sign on Western that is really so cool. Look at all the shapes it’s made of!

We got a new fence in front of our house. It’s really an improvement by all measures but without the vine coverage I’m going to have to up my gardening game this summer!

Miles and I went to the citywide Junior Citizen banquet at soldier field. It was a lovely event and Miles did a really great job on his speech! Five kids were selected to be the top finalists, and it was really great to see so many wonderful kids who all got opportunities and gave back to the parks. The Chicago Park district really is an amazing part of the city. They had a big slideshow running with quotes pulled from the kids applications.

Miles’s sponsor from his park was there which was really great too. She’s known him since he was 5!

And wow a shout out to the staff who signposted the event. I have seriously never been anywhere so well marked. There were signs all the way from the lake shore drive exit to the club area entrance!
And below just some pics of me back outside at lunch after a long and cold winter and miles in his new suit.

Great post and pics! Looking good in the suit miles and looks like a nice event! How nice for miles’ sponsor to follow him through from the age of 5!
Nice to see events coinciding the time when a beam of sunlight illuminates the inner sanctum of your dining room! Congratulations to Miles, who looks so nice in his suit, speaking at the Junior Citizen Banquet.
Nice fence and railing, too.
Well done Miles.
Im sure your sponsor was very proud of you.
