Paddy and Kathleen arrived in Chicago last week and summoned some very warm weather – in fact shortly after they arrived we had a very summery day (huge contrast to winter conditions up until that day!) and the report said that it was the warmest day since Oct. 9, 2017, which I think was just about when they left after the marathon trip last fall! So it’s very nice to have them here, and very nice to have the warm weather, and I think we know what we need to do to get winter to finally end around here next time! I don’t have many photos of their trip so far, but we did take a few during an outing to the Lincoln Park Zoo on Saturday. It was really warm, summery weather again. Readers might recognize this spot from where Liam and friends took their prom photos!
They went to the loop area today and visited the Bean and Millennium Park, and then to the Joffrey Ballet at the Auditorium Theater, and John grilled some steak tacos for dinner tonight. Miles and I got some herbs from the garden shop and planted them, small but important first step in getting the back yard ready for summer use. Overall a very lovely day! More news as we head into graduation weekend coming up this next weekend!
I just had a pang of jealousy on Rory’s behalf that you may have seen that super active polar bear again at Lincoln Park zoo! Glad you’re all having a fun trip!
We went over to his area but it was really hot for both us and the polar bear! We weren’t able to spot him readily so he must have been trying to find a cool spot in his enclosure, and we went off to find our own cool spot! You can tell Rory that he’s still here though and we got close 🙂
Great photos! See you all soon!
