We had a great time at Kathleen’s birthday dinner in town on Friday evening. We met at the Cliff Townhouse near Stephen’s Green, a very nice choice by Barry and Frankie. It was a lovely evening with a lot of fun and delicious food. We missed you, Colette and Colman! Here’s the daring balloon save mentioned earlier! James’s helium balloon broke free toward the end of the evening, which was very upsetting considering The Cliff Town House has extremely high ceilings! We were all going the direction of offering substitutions for the balloon when Liam and his Grandad staged a magnificant save. Liam used a tall umbrella with curved handle to snag the balloon ribbon and save the day. I was a bit surprised the staff didn’t try to stop this one — the whole thing may have happened before they noticed that a customer was standing on the window ledge balancing an umbrella in his upstretched hand. Anyway, success! James got his balloons back 🙂
