HoliYAY!!!

The Brennan family holiday to Chicago has begun! After a bit of delay leaving Dublin airport, which actually served them well on that they were a bit tired upon arrival and therefore more inclined to sleep well and adjust to the time change, they had an uneventful flight across the Atlantic and landed in good form.

Saturday was really a travel and adjustment day, but today we hit the ground running. Phyllis and the kids went to mass at St Mark’s. It was in Spanish but very welcoming and warm. Paul stayed back and watched Clare vs Cork in the Munster final (thanks for the coaching on that sentence, Isabelle!). We didn’t get many details but I hear congratulations are in order, Colman.

We then went downtown and walked along the river walk. It’s very hot here but everyone did great!

Then we went to the house of blues for the gospel brunch. It was great fun, starting with Isabelle taking the stage with other kids in the opening song!

We then visited the apple store, Disney store and water tower place all along Michigan Avenue. The kids, including this big kid, all had a great time.

Stay tuned for more holiYAY adventures! Thanks and congrats to James for winning the blog post naming competition!

  1. But who’s counting?

I may have thrown off the Clare fans and broken their physic bond w the team with a lot of questions about scoring during the half time break. Why do you have to confuse people with two sets of scores?

  2. Great photos Cindy, well done Isabelle on joining in with the Gospel choir, looks like the Brennan’s having a fun time, enjoy the hols😎xx
