I have been meaning to get into a regular blog update schedule and while I can’t promise this is it, I can try for a post. It’s a start!
John’s birthday was lovely today, starting with riding bikes to yoga at the Garfield park conservatory. We’ve had a ton of rain but it all cleared up for this weekend, and it got up into the upper 60s today. The conservatory was beautiful inside as usual.
Later in the afternoon miles joined us for a cycle to the grocery store, then for dinner we all went out to Mott Street, a restaurant we’d heard good things about but hadn’t been to before. They had the patio open and we ate outside – sweet surprise for April! It was really delicious, readers planning a trip to Chicago should remind us to take them there. The first photo is Miles’s soda, black sesame tea with mint. So good he ordered another!

In other news, Roux is well again. Poor little guy had to consume an awful lot of antibiotics but on the up side it allowed me and him to spend more time together. 😀🐹😀🐹
Liam was home briefly in March before and after a trip to Portland.
We managed to fit in 2 games of seven wonders.

Scraping the barrel for news here but Australian readers may recognize this as a pumpkin! Turns out we have them here too but we call it squash (and maybe something more specific too).

Happy birthday John! I think in addition to Mott, we’ll have to have Garfield conservatory on our to do list later in the year!
Oh and nice pumpkin altho it looks a lot greener than ours which seem a bit greyer!
Great photos! Nice when a birthday falls on a Saturday so you can celebrate together. Looks like you had a nice day, John!
