Thanks for all the birthday well wishes for Miles, who turned 18 on Friday. He spent the day visiting Lewis & Clark College in Portland, with John joining him Friday night for a birthday dinner at Canard, a restaurant we really enjoyed during our visit to Portland last summer. Then they went back to the L&C campus for a day of activities the following day. Photos below are of the Lewis & Clark forested campus – where Miles has decided to go next year! There seems to be nobody else around except Miles in these photos, which seems to just be a quirk of the moment and spot where they took the pics. Truly, there will be other people around. The campus is very picturesque – it reminded us all a lot of Camp Maclean, where Liam and Miles used to go to summer camp.
Congrats, Miles, on turning 18 and on your college decision!

Congrats Miles! Looks like a lovely campus. Hope that bright green grass isn’t an indicator of high rainfall levels!!
The climate is very like Ireland, so well spotted on the green grass!
Such a beautiful campus! The Pacific Northwest is lovely, and I think quite like Ireland in climate. That looks like a delicious birthday dessert!
