Graduation party and job visits

On Saturday evening we went to Miles’s friend Caroline’s graduation party. It was held in a meadery (very Portland!) and such a lovely event. She’s very musical and the crowd sang a lot of songs with and for her.

Here’s miles and max singing a Waylon Jennings song
Caroline singing us a song she wrote and recorded
Miles and Zoe – can’t remember what the song was
Zoé, miles and Caroline I think singing video games by Lana del ray

The party lasted until about 1:30 am! After sleeping in the next morning we went on some job tours – first to Miles’s job at the book pub which is super nice and cosy. His coworkers and owner were excited to see him and meet me, very nice.

Then we went to Zoe’s school, where she teaches preschool. The school is in a home, and the teachers live there. Here mikes and Zoe are in the garden, where Zoe plants a lot of herbs, vegetables and other plants with the kids.

After job visits, we parted to rest and for me to explore the area of historic Irvington. Chickens next door (also very Portland!)!

Street trees are sooooo big and healthy
Typical house style
There are steps built into the driveway, great use of space!
So lush

This banner across the street gives an encouraging message about how we can do this, Oregon. I think it was left from Covid but still, encouraging!

On Monday I visited a spa with saunas, hot and cold pools, it was really wonderful.

Miles picked me up from the spa and we had lunch at screen door with max, really good food and company. Then miles took me to the airport and back to Chicago. Great trip, thanks so much for all the good time together miles, it was great to see you and your world!
