Like everyone else we wanted to see the Broadway musical Hamilton in New York, but tickets are a combination of impossible to get and crazy high prices sold by ticket resellers. Plus it’s coming to Chicago later this year so we made what I think was a very mature decision to wait on Hamilton and see Fun Home on Broadway instead. It was a really fantastic play, based on a graphic novel by Alison bechdel ( assigned reading before the play). Graphic novel and play are both highly recommended!

We also took a walk on the High line, new york’s elevated parkway. It was as cool as all the talk, a winding and landscaped former train line. Nice to think that chicago’s 606 will also have fuller landscaping after a few seasons!

Another highlight in NY was the TriBeCa film festival. We went to a panel discussion with the writer and female lead of the show catastrophe and surprise guest was Carrie Fisher with her dog Gary. We also went to a screening of short films by independent filmmakers from around the world. Also really good!
Personal highlights, I treated my self to a Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress and the young sales said as she handed me the bag ‘you’re a woman now’ which was very cute. Miles most liked some fried chicken and waffles we ate in Brooklyn. John’s favorite was riding bikes in Central Park, which was a big hit with all of us!

Looks like fun! I’m still giggling at how short the Sydney high line is!
The High Line looks great! So nice that cities are creating such nice walkways. I’d like to see the wrap dress!
