Given how regularly we have gone to Flying Saucer over the years, it hasn’t made an appearance on the blog. This was the first place we came to when we move back to Chicago and it was where we met Frankie’s relative by marriage. They seem to have eased up on their unusual dislike of restaurants serving water without guests asking for it, but other than that not much has changed over the years. We ate there this morning, managing to “beat the rush!”

A trip to Chicago is not complete without a breakfast at The Flying Saucer!
I am jealous of the casual placement of the Chulula sauce on the table in front of John & Miles… you wouldn’t believe the length I have to go to in order to get that over here – even went to a speciality south american store & still couldn’t get that brand of chipotle sauce!
We need to get you some Chulula! Seems to be a rich business opportunity for someone to import Mexican grocery items into Australia!
I must admit I found it unusual when in the States and Aus some time back to go out particularly for breakfast. However, I am of the impression that it is something that has caught on here in recent years.
