Today is the first day of school, Liam starting his senior year and Miles starting 7th grade at his new school. Good luck today, Liam and Miles!
Colette sent another first day of school photo, this one from Colette’s first year in school, Barry’s first year in secondary school and John around 16 years old. Some things have changed quite a bit (Colette is way taller now!) but others haven’t (school children have been forever obliged to take a back-to-school photo on the way out the door on the first morning of school)!
And then Mom send in this from the archives (different archive!) – me on my first day of kindergarten. If you think I look happy, check out the bus driver, she’s having a great day at work!
We hope this is the beginning of a great school year 🙂

I wonder if it was the uniforms making John & Barry so grumpy-looking! John seems to be itching for a tshirt by rolling his sleeves up!

Only saw this now – I reckon Colette’s the only one smiling, as she’s the only one who doesn’t have experience of what’s ahead of her!! 🙂
Taking photos with a digital camera also lets you take a whole lot of pics, look at them as you go, and easily discard all the ones with unhappy or goofy faces! I think there were probably 9 photos from this “photo shoot” that I didn’t post and will delete. Back in the day of film we didn’t have that luxury!

Yup Colman wants to know now if the driver’s name was Otto!
Kids were expected to bring school supplies which included a box of facial tissues. Cindy has her pink box of Kleenex under her arm. 🙂
@colette and colman, our school buses still look exactly like that! Miles rides to school every morning on one. Very funny about Otto!
@mom, under the heading “things that stay the same” kids still bring school supplies like boxes of kleenex! It’s more common in grade school, but Miles’s art teacher asked that they each bring in a roll of paper towels, a box of kleenex and some hand soap for Tuesday.
