Santa and everyone else was very good to us again this year!
Thanks for the socks, Nana!Miles in his old, ripped pajamas, a fact that Santa-the-omniscient noted.Miles in new pajamas from Santa! And a mask from Debbie!Liam in the mask from DebbieA new tradition… gifting of an e-book. I ordered a book for John and had it delivered to his Kindle at 1am Christmas morning. This is what unwrapping an e-book looks like.Great minds thinking alike! I got John and Barry sent me the same book — titled The Revolution Was Televised. It’s all about how incredible the TV series has become. We’re now reading the book together and love being reminded how great The Sopranos and The Wire are. Looking forward to the Deadwood and Friday Night Lights chapters!Cookbooks from Australia for John from Colette! We did have some incredible food there, so it will be fun to try to recreate it here! Apologies for the lousy backlighting.Zombicide! A cooperative game to survive a zombie apocalypse. Scary!
We then had some cinnamon rolls that John won in the white elephant gift exchange the night before (thanks, Carolyn, delicious!), skyped with Nana and Grandpa in KC and Granny, Grandad, Phyllis and kids, Barry and Frankie and Colette and Colman in Dublin, then headed downtown to have a walk through Millenium Park.
I always like this view of the bean at Millenium Park. Even with a gray sky it creates some amazing illusions.
Photo orchestrated so that Liam would look taller than he is. Not sure why we think this is funny — I think it was Miles’s idea. After my initial suggestion that John stand way in front, they pointed out he should be several feet behind Liam and Miles.
We didn’t brave the ice rink, but wanted to show how nice and festive it was on Michigan Avenue with the skaters out.

Oh so much to comment on! The thyme with snow on it looks like a miniature forest… looks like a nice Christmas morning with books, pajamas, a mask, and other gifts… Millennium Park is nice in winter, too, and fewer people looking at their reflections in The Bean… I need a furry bomber hat like John’s.
