Butterfly (or moth?)

I read once that butterflies rest with their wings closed, whereas moths rest with their wings open. This beautiful one or the other was in the black-eyed susan plants this morning.

I was surprised when it crawled right onto Miles’s finger!

  1. Generally, butterflies have thin antennae with a small knob or “club” at the end. Moths have varied antennae, which often look like feathers.
Whether it’s a moth or a butterfly, that’s really kool that Miles got one to perch on his finger 🙂
