Add some snow

Yesterday we got about 4 inches of very dry and fluffy snow, which is super pretty and gives a soft finish to everything. We also found out that our street is plowed when it snows.

Walking to the lakefront at about 8 this morning. Although the snow is not completely removed, a snow plow has been by!

The snow added a whole bunch of white color for the wind to work with, and the beach was covered with sand and snow abstract shapes. The designs bring to mind the Jack Frost character who makes all the winter ice and snow into works of art.

The river area that meets the lake had new snow cover

Wow, wind, very cool!
We’ve had no beach buddies at all this week! Also, unrelated, but we’re super grateful for our hooded parkas. It’s really cold!

No pictures of this but during the day we worked. Then it was sunset time, which we bundled up for and knew would be worth it, with the sun out and a few clouds to pick up the light.

Realizing I should have taken a video but the thready looking lines coming in from the lake is blowing sand, moving in long s shapes. This was taken from the top of the stairs. So cool!

One of two people enjoying sunset tonight!
Two of two!
Maybe we’re in Antarctica?
Sun out.

We’d walked south along the beach during sunset because it was too cold to stand still, and while walking back north to the stairs I noticed that the sand we were walking on was really one crisp layer of sand on top of several inches of snow.

See the white footprints with top layer gone
Close up!
In some places whole sections of the crunchy sand broke off to show the snow beneath.

Pretty amazing couple of adventures today!
