“It hurts to smile”

Miles slipped on the playground at school minutes before I got there to pick him up yesterday. He cut his chin and was in the office getting it wrapped up by the extremely proficient school secretary when I got there. “He needs stitches,” she said, and since she’s always right off we went to the hospital. Several hours later super brave miles got 3 stitches in his chin. He wasn’t in pain at any point, though this morning he said that it hurts to smile. And he’s disappointed that he isn’t allowed to wrestle with liam for a few days.

For those who remember our last trip to children’s… this went much better. The doctor, while seemingly new to performing a stitch (how can this be???) did a good job and the stitches aren’t too tight. John took over the parental part during the waiting room stage so I didn’t have a chance to faint.

  1. Poor Miles-reminds me of the time you fell off bike in our back garden and got some stitches inserted/stick on which wernt very successful.

  2. Yikes, you must have hit your chin pretty hard, Miles! I hope it still doesn’t hurt much. I’m sure it’ll be all healed soon 🙂

  3. Miles, just saw this. So sorry to hear about the fall but it looks like you’re doing just fine. How is Liam handling the fact that HE can’t wrestle with YOU?
