Thought I would get this holiday off on the right foot by posting incrementally rather than in one huge post! Miles flew in from Portland on Tuesday evening and is doing great. Here he is getting into the car when we picked him up from the el station. He’s looking a bit dazed because he wasn’t expecting the paparazzi in the car!
Wednesday I worked but John had the day off and had a chance to go to Flying Saucer with Miles. Miles has a lot of his favorite places in Chicago to hit over these 5 days.
Wednesday night Miles met up with Satchi and they went out with friends from Lane, and John and I watched The Irishman, the new 3.5 hour Martin Scorcese movie that’s on Netflix (in the US anyway, not sure about all markets?) Really excellent – readers should let us know when you’ve seen it and we would love to discuss!
This morning, this turkey went out for a trot around Humboldt Park. It was really beautiful and quiet.
And I ran past our local pie shop Spinning J on the way home. Looking forward to pumpkin pie from there later today!
Happy thanksgiving! Great to see Miles back! I can’t imagine running in a hat by the way. Irishman on Netflix here too so we will watch it at some point… I doubt in one sitting though!!
That’s too funny about the hat – not even in winter? It nicely covered my totally unbrushed hair, bonus! I had gotten home from work early so we watched half of The Irishman, had dinner, then watched the rest, which worked well. Liam and Kat saw it in the cinema and said they felt the length for sure!
