Walk at Manly

On Wednesday, we did the usual swim / run / coffee hang around stuff in the morning, then John and I went to Manly in the afternoon, while Liam and Kat got tickets to La Boheme at the opera house, and miles, granny and grandad hung out around here then went for dinner nearby.

Manly is a town across the harbor from the CBD or central business district, that has beaches and a very seaside fun feel. We took the ferry over (pics of bridge and opera house below are from the trip back later) then a cab to the Spit Bridge to start the walk. It was warm enough even overcast and late afternoon so we were very glad to not be out midday! We saw some impressive probably flightless birds that appeared to be on the chicken – turkey spectrum, large lizards, and heard a lot of really loud birds in the trees above us. There were also very exotic flowers, and part of the terrain seemed to have been burnt but was regrowing. Overall, we thought Manly deserves its status as best walk in Sydney! Not to take away from the others (especially our beloved eastern suburbs, now including maroubra to malabar!) but it addition to great views manly excelled in flora and fauna.

  1. Great photos from your walk at Manly and in the evening! Looks like a brightly lit area with a ferris wheel near the bridge.
