John and I had a lovely weekend in Miller Beach, Indiana. Miles stayed here with Speedy and Roux and went to music festival Lollapalooza, and Liam was in town visiting Kat.
We spent some very enjoyable evenings and mornings on Mike and Andrea’s back deck. Their house is built on a dune, so while you walk straight in from the front, the back is up quite high.
Miller Beach has a lot of really lovely modern houses (see previous post about Hoosier Homes) and also a lot of beach themed touches. It’s really nice – great chill vacation feel to the whole place.
Monty, their 6-year-old boxer is a great swimmer. He really loves swimming in after a stick and bringing it back to the beach, digging for a bit in the sand, then repeating the process.
This morning he got a bit confused about where the stick landed in the water, so I helped him find it.
Here I am swimming along as John and Andrea walked on the beach and Mike threw the stick for Monty. One swimmer seems really small out there in a Great Lake! This area stays shallow for a ways out – I was able to stand up very easily the whole time.
This is really becoming all about Monty, but he was quite a muse this weekend! He likes playing with water from the garden hose.
We had a great time, thanks for inviting us down!
Nice house near the Lake. I bet Monty enjoyed having a swimming buddy.
Has me daydreaming about a beach pad and summer!!
