Foggy lake

We have had a very unseasonably warm spell for Chicago in February! This inspired us to take my bike in to get gears (hopefully I can go a bit faster with them!) and then for me to cycle to work today. There was fog on the lake tonight in the way home, very pretty and surreal.

  1. That is a bit spooky! Were you looking toward the city? Just as I got the email notifying about your blog update, I was standing at the lift in work looking out at a sparkling Sydney harbour!

    1. It was pretty eerie out there! They are doing improvements to the path so parts were unfamiliar, and it was warm like summer but getting dark at 5:30 like February, which added to the oddness. Photos were from the south side at about 47 th street so just north of Hyde park. First photo was looking south, second straight east, third looking north. The Sears tower is barely visible in that one.

  2. Reminds me of one of Carl Sandburg’s Chicago poems:

    The fog comes
    on little cat feet.

    It sits looking
    over harbor and city
    on silent haunches
    and then moves on.
