We made plans to go out to a “new” restaurant on Sunday – only to realize when we got there that we’d been there before. Who can keep track of ramen restaurants in Logan Square anyway? It was delish. They have a noodle Sunday special that Liam and Miles got – really flavorful noodle based soups.

See the massive lumpy thing to the side of Miles and me in the photo below? It’s several huge candles all drippy with dried wax. Bravo, Miles, for not indulging in the urge to pick at it during dinner! Very tempting!

I had a really crazy bunch of mushrooms that looked like pine cones, with arugula (rocket) and a soft boiled egg. This photo was not on my plate, but an excellent depiction of the maitake mushroom in the wild by Pethan from nl, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=1792907

We often had candles on the table when our daughters were children, and I recall that Certain People wanted to pick at the wax on them. But that was at home and the candles were smaller. 🙂
Well done on not picking at the wax Miles… Isabelle and I just had a smaller candle with lots of wax on it when we went out for dinner and we both really struggled!
