MCA and 606

Hello, Readers! We’ve received some feedback that suggested we could possibly post a bit more frequently, and we agree that a more frequent posting schedule would be nice.

We did some fun and long overdue things in the lead up to Thanksgiving. First, I took the car into get a brake light fixed (overdue) and had the pleasure of walking back by way of the 606, our new elevated park that runs east to west along the old Bloomingdale Trail through Wicker Park, Bucktown, Humboldt Park and Logan Square.

Nice that I got the walk in because the next day it snowed, quite early for our first snowfall. That evening, Liam took the train back from school. Cue the serious selfies and wrestling matches that took place in our house to celebrate!

On Sunday, we went to the MCA to see the exhibit The Freedom Principle: experiments in art and music 1965 to now. It was really excellent. Here’s an installation of soundsuits by artist Nick Cave.

  1. Elevated parks/walkways must really be the trend just now… Sydney just got one ready for u to check out at Xmas (there is no risk of it snowing on it either)

  2. Nice to see you all enjoying Thanksgiving in Chicago. Garfield park looks great as usual. Nice cake also yummy. Great to see Mary and Herb looking so well .
