For the last several years Liam or Miles has done trapeze camp after their weeks of junior counselor volunteer work ends. Trapeze camp, which does culminate in a trapeze performance, also includes other circus tricks like the high wire, hoops, silks (also seen at Cirque du Soleil) and the triple trap. This year the theme was seasons of the year, which explains all of the seasonal decorations you’ll see in the videos. I am hoping to learn a few things from the video team behind “C&C in Sydney” over Christmas — readers should expect some higher quality videos in the future!
The show started off with an act accompanied by Auld Lang Syne, then moved to Valentine’s Day. The Valentine’s Day act was very cute AND Miles had a big part in it AND it showed off his newly acquired tightrope walking skills… but I didn’t manage to record it. Sigh. Here’s part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebration routine, showing the line of dancers that eventually split off to have some acrobats performing on the high hoops (like a big hula hoop hanging about 6 feet off the ground.)

The next holiday was May flowers, which the Easter Bunny joined in on. Miles was one of the May flowers.

Fast forward to Thanksgiving, in which Miles, other kids, and a turkey performed on the triple trap!

Then the finale… Christmas-themed trapeze. The trapeze always makes me a little crazy to watch (children flying through the air and all) and the fact that the safety crew were dressed as elves didn’t help. However, all went very smoothly, and Miles made both his catches! Caught by an elf!

Trapeze camp looks like great fun! I bet it takes quite a bit of leg and arm strength to do some of those moves.
Trapeze camp looks very exciting and some of the high acts look a bit scary-well done Miles.
