Last weekend was the Puerto Rican festival around here. Lots of parading in cars with big flags (though our informal survey showed people were using smaller flags this year than in the past.) It was also really hot, so while the boys were camping on Sunday, I went out and bought myself two new pairs of flipflops from KMart, then decided to go home and stay in airconditioning for the rest of the day.

Down Under those things on your feet are known as thongs! Takes a bit of getting used to!
Not much demand here for thongs at present due to the unpleasant weather.
