Japanese Garden on the Wooded Island

Today we visited the Japanese Garden on the Wooded Island, in Jackson Park, which is right behind the Museum of Science and Industry. The Japanese Garden was built for the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893, the same year our house was built!

The Japanese Garden is really nice, very well kept by the park district. We had a picnic in the shade there and Miles and Liam climbed on the rocks.

After that we went to a few bookstores in Hyde Park, went to an art exhibit at the Hyde Park Art Center, then went up north to Luke King’s 9th birthday party. Very fun day!

  1. The Japanese Garden looks really pretty. I didn’t know it was there.
