What’s up fam

Hey everyone, this is Liam. Just a fair warning, this post won’t have any ridiculously cute pictures of Rory. Sorry.

I just wanted to elaborate on a couple of things I’ve been doing in the past couple of months that haven’t really been posted on here fully.

First of all: Tanzania. The views were incredible! The friends were unparalleled! The food was world class! The bathrooms were alright.

This was after a work day in one of the Maasai villages.DSC04146

Another work day. There’s a weird scarcity of photos of me actually working.DSC04289

One of the roads we drove along. This vans are the main method of transportation for tourists. The roofs go up so you can stand while driving. DSC04689

This is a photo I took of elephants by putting my phone behind binoculars.IMG_0392

Also I wanted to include a video of my engineering project from last weekend. It involves a special ceramic that, once cold enough, becomes locked in place over a magnetic track. At one point we were able to balance a relatively large piece of styrofoam on top of the ceramic, which is shown in the second half of the video.

  1. I’d consider not showing the video to any lady friends – the impact of the v cool photos of you helping people in Tanzania may be lost if you try and talk them through the video. Go for a cute photo of Rory instead. Just a thought. Colmán

  2. Thanks Liam for update and photos of Tanzania. Video very interesting too. Keep up the good works.

  3. We enjoyed seeing your pictures from Tanzania! I don’t see any cables going to the huts in Maasai village, so I assume their cable TV and Internet is completely wireless. Right?

  4. Your demonstration with the magnets is really cool, literally and figuratively!

  5. I remember making mud huts on a much smaller scale last year for our Trocaire Lentan project last year – really amazing to make the real thing….well done Liam…such an experience

  6. I really like your MacGyver approach to a zoom lens in that photo of an elephant! And perhaps you just need a different definition of “working,” since in the photo of you on the ladder you do appear to be either securing the ladder from walking away or guarding the rooftop work space. The magnet project looks very cool up close, glad you got a video of it!
