We’ve officially tried out the skating ribbon at Maggie Daley Park! It’s a lot of fun, and a new challenge to skate up a small hill.
Because our previous visit to Maggie Daley Park was at night, we didn’t get good overall photos. Here’s a panorama of the skating ribbon area. You can see that unlike a rink, skaters can loop around more like on a curvy walkway or path (which it will be in the summer).

John and I both skated, while Miles stayed home to become reacquainted with the Playstation 4, which broke down right before Christmas and was just sent back from the Sony device hospital with a clean bill of health. Here’s John skating (who would guess he had a broken knee in the last year?!)

And me — you can’t tell but I am on my own personal ice skates! I have been toying with the idea of getting ice skates for years and took the plunge. I’m hoping to do some skating on the rink near my office before winter is through, too!

And just a few more photos of the park, nicely nestled in between Millenium Park and the buildings along Michigan Avenue on the west and the lake on the east.

Well done on buying skates! Hope you get lots of use out of them! Park looks very cool… Is the path/rink slightly elevated? It looks it in some pics. Looks like another great public space in Chicago!
Looks like Maggie Daley park with its skating ribbon is a great addition to that area!
Good luck with the skates-what a fantastic addition to Maggie Daley Park.
