On Sunday Liam went to Lollapalooza, a three day music fest in Grant Park. It’s a huge festival, with 300,000 people attending over the three days, including Malia Obama! Liam didn’t see her though, too bad or they could have talked about the old days playing soccer together at UIC. Liam’s shoes got very muddy as you can see here:
Monday morning I had about the best cycle into work ever. The temperatures have been really nice and cool this summer. At about McCormick Place on the lakefront trail, there’s a great view of the transformation of Northerly Island — here’s a photo of the hills the architects constructed:
Down on campus, there is such amazing landscaping going on too. Here’s a lovely new feature in front of the law school, first a closeup of the colors in the ground cover planted, then a longer view of the whole box.
Sounds like a nice weekend of music and dancing! Lovely picture of Northerly Island and the colorful flowers on campus. Got to say that Chicago did a good thing with Northerly Island.

I saw an article here about Malia being at Lollapalooza & felt very in the know as I remembered Liam going to it last year too (when I had to ask what it was!). Hope Miles doesn’t feel like summer is coming to an end now summer camp is over!
