Apologies, this is totally biased toward our Chicago readers, though in Australia you undoubtedly have a time advantage considering our Chicago readers (reader?) may already be in bed.
What do the objects in this picture have in common? Rather, what story do they tell?
My watch is only in there to show the time of day, 10:30pm, and the date, July 14th.
The winner gets to take a late night bike ride with John and me on the lakefront, night to be determined.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Ah yes, in the 10th hour (on Bastille Day, no less!), the Kenny’s remove their old City of Chicago sticker from their windshield, and (hopefully) place the new sticker in the same spot where last year’s sticker was located.
Here in this photo, we see the remains of the old sticker, and the tool the Kenny’s used (no doubt!) to scrape off the old sticker. Plus, we see the backing of the new sticker.
So, what evening shall we go on that bike ride? Will you be pulling me, because my reward should be that I expend no energy what-so-ever!
And John said nobody would be able to guess it, but Detective Knox-Haasen cracked the case!
Yes, fearing a midnight ticket from the cash-starved city, I replaced the city stickers with 1 1/2 hours left of the grace period.
BTW those tools are great for the job, I highly recommend them.
I’m sure the invigorating nature of a late night bike ride on the lakefront will make you feel like you’re using no energy at all!
I am on the phone with Karen and I got in to seconds! We have to put Art’s on his van today!
whatever Erin, we all know you are so much smarter than I! you can come along on the bike ride with me and Cynthia and John, but Art CANNOT come!
We have three vehicles so we spent lots of money and do this for each car! We do this through the mail. Have fun on that bike ride!
Oh BTW, you can renew the sticker online now….I did, it was quick and easy, no more checks, no more stamps for the City Sticker.
That’s a very impressive speed, Erin, you are very welcome to come on the late night bike ride with us! We have to get 2 stickers because our street is so posh we have 24 hour permit parking!!! Get the sticker on Art’s van fast, the grace period is done!
Art’s administrative assistant (Richard) takes care of the whole business for us now, so I don’t do a thing! Back at you Karen!
I think the connection is : Barack Obama. He is from the County Offaly originally. Do I win the prize now ? Izzy and me have our Hurling helmets now. Issac.
Well done, Isaac! I had not made that connection before but I can’t fault it either, so you get to take a bike ride with us on the lakefront too! I suggest you wear a bike helmet rather than a hurling helmet but I’m sure your dad can best advise on that.
