This morning I went down to meet Sarah for yoga in Millenium Park (yay, that means it is summer!) and saw half of the Jun Kaneko sculpture exhibit there. This half shows the Tanuki figures that Kaneko has been making. From the exhibit web page:
“The North Boeing Gallery features a new body of work by Kaneko, drawing upon the myths and legends of the Tanuki figure. From ancient times, the Japanese have expressed the Tanuki in a variety of ways, for it is considered to be a trickster who causes trouble and mayhem in both the human and supernatural worlds.”
It was starting to rain so I thought I should get on my bike and head home, but I’m looking forward to seeing the other half of the exhibit soon! The other half has Kaneko’s more traditional sculptures, photos to be included when available!

Very interesting!
Cool to have them on exhibition outdoors… I presume that’s traditional? Glad rain arrived post yoga!
What a lovely exhibition.
