Colette and Colman are on their way to Ireland right now (readers in Greenland, look up and wave!) after a visit that we enjoyed thoroughly in Chicago. Here are some highlights, some photos are theirs so you may seem a few shots pop up on their blog soon!
Colman has always visited Chicago in winter before this, so he finally got a chance to see Buckingham Fountain. This was taken on their walk from the Field Museum along the lakefront up to Buckingham Fountain. They then braved the Taste of Chicago and headed over to the el.
The Groves came over for dinner on Sunday night, and John made a perfect brisket. The kids ate inside.
Cyril Brennan (the brother of Phyllis's husband for readers not so acquainted with these branches) was in town too, and we met at Adobo Grill for dinner one night. It was a bit chilly, Colette and Colman said it was similar to the breezes that blow from Antarctica and cool Sydney. Cyril is an Irish diplomat to France. He'd just been out west, including Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Another Kenny / Kenny in-law to visit L.V. and the G.C. before me! I'm going to wait until all of Ireland has been to both places, then go and see what all the fuss is about 🙂
Piece. Peace. Colette handed the waiter her camera to take this photo and he made several quick adustments to the settings, jumped up on a small wall to get a better shot, and took this photo. I think this is why the 4 adults are looking rather stunned. It was weird. Pizza was great though.
Standing in front of Piece: the windows open all the way to the floor on a nice day. To make the meal perfect for Miles, he and John jumped out after eating, instead of using the door. Still feeling jumpy, here's Miles jumping.
