That is interesting. It shows that the difference between “paradise” and “bad” is all a matter of perception. The settlers of European ancestry perhaps labeled it “bad” because it wasn’t good for farming, or maybe because of some danger they found there. But to the native Lakota people it must have been a good place, maybe for hunting or maybe for its beauty. Like so many things, perceptions make all the difference.
