Spring scenes

It’s been a long time since we’ve posted, and some photos are piling up! A few weeks ago we went to an exhibit at the MCA by Nicole Eisenman. In the exhibit it was mentioned that she has a cat named Edie, which is the name of the black cat that Liam is fostering. Not sure if this is Edie in the painting below, but it reminded us of her!

This trip to the MCA was part of a day organized around the 66 bus. We’d taken the bus to the MCA, then walked over to the lake, where the lake was lovely but unique – as always. The part is the shade were a rich deep blue, and the parts in the sun were a grayish green. We walked around Olive Park to the park by the water reclamation plant and saw several groups set up for wedding photos. One couple was getting married right there!

The bean is having some work done – note the very large pieces of tape on the surface above. The hoardings set up around the site have nice photos on them though, so you can see lots of beans at once now.

According to my plant identification app, the purple flowers shown here in bloom in Millennium Park are “Glory of the Snow”. Very pretty.

We walked across the pedestrian bridge to the art institute, and saw a really amazing exhibit of women ceramists from Japan.

And wandered around to some other galleries, the following photo is a tapestry.

And we saw an exhibit of photograms – using light sensitive paper to capture forms in shadow and light but without a camera. Or you could say by using the world as a camera 🙂

Mom and I went to see My Fair Lady in March. It was a really great production! We had great seats and enjoyed it very much.

Miles took part in a literary mic event at the pub he works at in Portland. He read a story that he wrote and got some really good feedback on it!

And I’ll finish up with some scenic shots from Ukrainian Village

And the Indiana Dunes State Park. Always a great place for a walk!
